1955 Chevy 210 Del Ray
We started with a 4 door frame minus the body that we already had. The rear springs were moved inboard, and the frame was given a internal square tube, that all of the new crossmembers were be welded to. A sideways "H" was added to the center of the frame that would strenghten it, along with a new rear tubular upper shock mount, so that the shocks do not mount to the body. Next a Strange 9inch housing complete with 35 spline axles and 4:10 gears were mounted, and Wilwood brakes were installed with Lokar SS parking brake cables, and SS brake lines. The front end lost the rivets that hold it together, and was welded together. The bump stop mounts were ground off and the the seams were bondoed up to give the front frame horns a smooth look. The factory suspension was removed, and replaced with Heidt's 2" narrowed polished ss upper and lower control arms along with chromed coilover shocks. Next front, mid, and transmission mounts were fabed in preceding a blown BBC with fuel injection. When Ed finally found a body he liked, we striped it bare, fixed the rust in the floor, and filled in the removable panels in the floorboard. The trunk floor was removed along with the inner wheel tubs. A flat floor with mini tubs was installed to smooth out the trunk. It was then that we got the bad news That Ed passed away on Saturday while working on his Vickey at his house. He will be missed.
