1965 Chevy El Camino

Eye candy wild paint plenty of chrome This car belongs to a friend of the shop and owner of Wholsale Wheel And Tire, who we get our rims and tires for our cars from. The car was painted years ago and the chrome work was never finished, and when they blasted the dash they ruined the tach and filled the carpet with sand. They also got paint on the dash insert and center console. The engine compartment was cleaned up and painted along with the frame and new suspension installed into painted control arms. A new vacuum booster and mater cylinder with a adjustable proportioning valve mounted on a ss bracket, bolted to the master cylinder, and hand bent ss brake lines with Vinyl coated flexible ss brakelines replaced the worn out rubbber ones. A Vintage Air Sure Fit a/c system was installed with a bulk head fitting for the hoses into a smoothed and filled firewall. The installation of the a/c system required removing the center console, when that happened a huge hole in the floor was found that was repaired with a patch panel, the hole had let water in damaging the wood of the console, so it was repaired an modified to fit around the evaporator case in the dash. The MSD box was brought inside and hidden in the glove box. When the motor was pulled we did a leak down test on it because it would blow the dipstick out of the pan, we found 2 cylinders with excessive leakdown, so it went to Arrow Machine for a rebuild. while the motor was at the machine shop we had the transmission resealed because it was leaking pretty bad. When the motor came back it was painted and installed with a new 6-71 polished blower with dual Holley 4 barrels and a Chrome shot gun style scoop.
